Explaining it out loud puts the whole burden on the worst possible day

You end up explaining when you are least able to: standing in a doorway, tired, in front of someone who has three minutes. And you end up doing it again next month, from scratch, to the same person.

A page they can read on their own time does the work once. It also says the same thing every time, which is more than any of us manage out loud.

What the three pages do

📄 Page 1 : the explainer

One page written to be handed over, in language a partner, a manager or a teacher can follow without any medical background.

✍️ Page 2 : what it looks like for you

A fill-in page, because the general explanation is never the part that lands. Yours is.

🎯 Page 3 : one request

Turning the month into a single concrete thing you are actually asking for, rather than general awareness that changes nothing.

Awareness that asks for nothing changes nothing

October comes round, ribbons appear, and by November everything is exactly as it was. What people can act on is not a condition name, it is a request.

A chair by the counter, a meeting that does not start at nine, being allowed to leave without explaining: those are things a person can say yes to. The third page exists to make you choose one, because a single specific ask lands where a general appeal does not.

💚 It works outside October too

The month is a convenient excuse to start the conversation, not a requirement. Most people who use this kit are handing the first page to one specific person who needs to understand something, at whatever point in the year that becomes necessary.

Questions, answered

Is it really free?

Yes, completely. Enter your email and the PDF arrives in your inbox straight away. No card, no trial, no catch.

When is Dysautonomia Awareness Month?

October. The kit is built around it, but nothing in it depends on the date, and most people use the first page whenever a specific person needs to understand something.

Who is the explainer page written for?

Someone with no medical background who needs to understand enough to act: a partner, a manager, a teacher, a family member. It explains the mechanism plainly rather than listing symptoms, because the mechanism is what makes the rest make sense.

Can I give it to my employer?

Yes, and plenty of people do. If what you need is a formal workplace adjustment rather than an explanation, that is a different document and we have a separate guide with a letter template for it.

What format is it?

One PDF containing both A4 and US Letter versions. Print as many copies as you like for personal use, or fill it in digitally on a tablet or phone with any PDF annotation app.
